What Is Your Life Script? Is It Really you?

Hello Friends, Readers and Welcome All,

“Inside us lies every possibility that is available to a sentient being. Every darkness, every light. It is the choices we make that decide who or what we will be.” ~ Charles de Lint ~

We created the life we have. As children, our experiences gave us messages, some positive, some negative, and we incorporated those messages into a belief system. Then we wrote our script as we moved along. And now we live our life according to our script, dictated from our subconscious. We assumed a role, our self-image, and we play it out in every aspect of our life–work, money, relationships, health issues, expectations, our potential, our spirituality, etc. And we resist changes in ourself and others.

Have you written the script you want, and do you express as your authentic self–that deep, pure essence of who you were created to be? Or is your life defined by false beliefs about you and what your life is “supposed” to be? If you’re not living from your authentic self, you can write a new story.

“In the midst of our struggle to find out who we are, there are infinite possibilities for beauty, and hope, and wonder, and love.”  ~ Mandy Hale ~

Self awareness is key to change. So start asking yourself questions to uncover your erroneous beliefs. Explore, become aware, of different aspects of your life, and notice patterns you’ve created.

What do you see in your self-image? What would you change about you? Do you enjoy the work you’re doing? What about the people in your life and your health issues? What is money to you? Do you expect things to go wrong, or do you expect good outcomes? Do you get angry easily? Are you lonely? What are you afraid of? What do you see, or don’t see, as your potential in life? Ask questions about any part of your life that you wonder about.

The spirit part of you inside has always known your authentic self–that part of you that got lost somewhere when you were writing your script with false beliefs. And, with love, it wants to help you find that self. Go within and ask your questions. And listen carefully for answers. They will come. And find the power to believe you can find your true self.

“If you believe you can, then the universe will open up a world of possibilities and opportunities for you.”  ~ Melissa Perry Maraja ~

Everyday write down 4 categories in a journal: 2 from your old script and 2 for your new script.

Example 1:

1. Observation: I could have gone to college, but I was afraid to go.

2. False belief: I don’t have what it takes to make it there.

3. Opposite of false belief: I made good grades in school. I’m as smart as other students.

4. Imagine: Close your eyes and imagine receiving a college diploma, and notice how that feels. Feel the feelings.

Example 2:

1. Observation: I feel like I’ll always be poor.

2. False belief: I don’t deserve to be prosperous.

3. Opposite of false belief: I’m a good person, and I deserve every blessing, even prosperity.

4. Imagine: Having more than you need in your checking account, and notice how that feels. Feel the feelings.

One technique that has served me well over the years is denials and affirmations. These are powerful, because you’re confronting the lies with truth. As you go about your day, and you become aware of one of your false beliefs, use this technique. And do it with firm conviction.

Denial: State that the belief is false, and deny it has any power over you.

Affirmation: Affirm the truth of the situation, the opposite of the false belief.

Do what Paulo Coelho advises: “Imagine a new story for your life and start living it.” Toss the old script, and allow your authentic self to emerge and express as who and what you really are. You are beautiful.

I wish you happiness being you!
